Nousaku’s story began in Takaoka, a city steeped in a tradition of metal-casting, which dates back to the beginning of the Edo Period (400 years ago). Nousaku was founded over 100 years ago, specialising in the crafting of Buddhist ritual implements, tea-ware and vases. Since then, it has evolved into a brand best known for its tableware and decorative items, and developed a reputation for excellence, drawing critical acclaim from top chefs at 3-star Michelin restaurants.

Not suitable for use in dishwashers or driers. Use a soft sponge to wipe this product clean, and make sure to use a mild detergent. Never scrub with a brush.

If the product loses its shine, please clean and polish with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate).
To clean with Baking Soda, simply dissolve some Baking Soda in a little bit of warm water and polish the product by rubbing it in a circular motion with a soft sponge or cloth. After polishing, make sure to thoroughly rinse and dry the product for best results. Consider wearing gloves if your skin is sensitive.

Never polish the gold leaf with a commercial metal cleaner or baking soda. To avoid the gold leaf from flaking off, do not change the shape nor fill the item with liquid for more than 12 hours, and be sure to dry it well after use.

Do not place near flames as tin has a low melting point. Also, do not place in the freezer for an extended period of time.

Tin is a very soft metal, so please avoid scratching it with any hard objects.

Do not fill with highly acidic liquids or liquids with strong colours for long periods of time as it might result in discolouration.

Be careful when filling with hot liquids as the cup will get hot very quickly.
